Quick verdict
The Gweike MCore is an enclosed cutter that puts a 400W fiber laser for metal and an 80W CO2 laser for wood and acrylic in one cabinet with a 711 x 411 mm bed. Gweike sells it for $6,999 as a pre-sale on its US store, with machines shipping from China by sea in November, after a Kickstarter that opened in May 2026 at $4,999. Gweike claims up to 5 mm metal and 20 mm acrylic in one pass, servo motion to 1200 mm/s, a 16MP camera and capacitive height following on the fiber head. The catch is that it is new and unproven: there is no independent hands-on review yet, 400W is modest for metal, and clean stainless needs bottled nitrogen rather than the optional compressor.
What you still need
Bottled nitrogen and oxygen with regulators, or Gweike's $1,699 2.2 kW 1.2 MPa air compressor (220V, sold separately) for gas-free cutting of carbon steel up to about 4 mm; a 220 to 240V outlet unless Gweike confirms the 110V US setup its FAQ mentions; a vent route for the supplied duct fan or a fume extractor rated for metal fume; a Windows PC with an Ethernet port; spare fiber nozzles and protective lenses; a strong bench or Gweike's optional stand for 135 kg; and laser safety glasses for anyone else in the room (one pair of fiber laser glasses is included)Material reality check
Gweike lists stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, brass and titanium alloy as cuttable with the fiber laser, up to 5 mm for metals as a group, plus wood, acrylic (20 mm), MDF, leather and fabric with the CO2 laser. It engraves metal, glass, ceramic and bamboo. Copper is not on the cut list. Other makers' published tables, including xTool's for the MetalFab, put aluminum and brass well below carbon steel at the same power, so treat 5 mm as a carbon steel figure. Never process PVC or vinyl.Better alternative if

Pros and cons
Why we like it
- Fiber and CO2 lasers in one enclosed cabinet: thin sheet metal plus wood, acrylic and leather on one machine
- Up to 5 mm metal and 20 mm acrylic in one pass, per Gweike
- Door interlock, key switch, E-stop and an OD5+ window, with fiber laser glasses and a duct fan in the box
- 16MP overview camera, capacitive height following, and nesting, common-edge and micro-joint tools in the software
- At $6,999 it is the cheapest enclosed fiber cutter in this section, less than half the price of the xTool MetalFab welder and cutter
Watch out for
- Still a pre-sale shipping from China by sea in November, with no independent hands-on review yet
- 400W is modest for metal: read the single 5 mm figure as carbon steel, and clean stainless needs bottled nitrogen
- The FAQ promises 110V in the US but the manual says 220 to 240V, and the optional compressor is 220V
- Mlaser runs on Windows only and no LightBurn support is stated
- At 135 kg and 1280 x 800 x 582 mm it is a desktop machine in name only and needs a strong bench or the optional stand
