Quick verdict
The ComMarker B6 MOPA is a compact open galvo fiber laser with a JPT MOPA source, sold in 20W, 30W and 60W versions; the 60W Basic Bundle costs $3,999 on ComMarker's US store. MOPA pulse control is what makes repeatable color marking on stainless, clean black marks and deep 3D relief practical, and at 60W ComMarker claims multi-pass cuts of stainless up to 2 mm. One-touch autofocus, a 150 x 150 mm field and a claimed 15,000 mm/s make it quick to run. The catch is that it is an open Class 4 machine with no camera, so safety and fixturing are your job unless you buy the enclosure bundle.
What you still need
1064 nm safety glasses for anyone else in the room; the Safety Enclosure Pro, or at least the shield and 100W fume extractor (the 60W Safety Bundle is $4,379 and the Ultimate Bundle with enclosure, extractor and R5 rotary is $5,019); a LightBurn galvo licence if you want to move off EZCAD; the 300 x 300 mm lens for bigger fields; and a metal plate under the work when cutting, since a reviewer warned the beam will damage whatever surface the machine sits onMaterial reality check
Marks, color marks and deep engraves stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, gold and silver, and marks stone, black acrylic, leather and plastic. Cuts thin stainless and other metal sheet in multiple passes (2 mm stainless at 60W per ComMarker). Wood and clear acrylic or glass are poor choices at 1064 nm. Never process PVC or vinyl.Better alternative if

Pros and cons
Why we like it
- JPT MOPA source with 1 to 4000 kHz and 2 to 500 ns pulse control for color marking on stainless
- One-touch autofocus using a triangulation height sensor
- Cuts stainless sheet up to 2 mm in multiple passes, per ComMarker
- Light 13.5 kg body that runs as one unit or split, with a riser for tall work included
- $300 less than xTool's MOPA-only F2 Ultra, and works with LightBurn
Watch out for
- Open design: Class 1 only with the optional enclosure, so goggles for everyone otherwise
- No camera for positioning; you frame jobs with the red light preview
- LightBurn galvo licence costs extra and EZCAD2 Lite is Windows only
- Standard 150 x 150 mm field; 300 x 300 mm needs an extra lens
- A reviewer found the head mount wobbly, and a LightBurn forum user found the factory autofocus height set wrong
