Quick verdict

The Spark is the Forge's rectangular sibling: same 2.2kW VFD spindle, same optional NAX5 five-slot tool changer, same GRBL control box, but a 600 by 900mm bed instead of 800 square. If your work is long and narrow, doors, shelving, sign blanks, the Spark suits it better and costs 200 dollars less. If your work is square, take the Forge for the extra area. Same caveat on the Y axis, which uses a round rod where X gets a profile rail.

Who this fits best

Shops cutting long narrow parts who want a VFD spindle and optional tool changing without Avid money

Buy this if

Shops cutting long narrow parts who want a VFD spindle and optional tool changing without Avid money. Automatic tool changing available under 4000 dollars, same as the Forge.

Skip this if

ATC is a bundle upgrade, not included in the base price, and round rod on the Y axis is the weak point.

What else you still need

The NAX5 tool changer if you want ATC, plus a dust collector and a table long enough for the 900mm bed.

Material reality check

Same spindle and frame as the Forge: strong in wood and fine in aluminium with sensible passes. The round-rod Y axis caps how hard you can push metal.

Better alternative if...

you want more total cutting area for a few hundred dollars more. See Genmitsu PRONAX Forge

Where it wins

  • Automatic tool changing available under 4000 dollars, same as the Forge
  • 2.2kW VFD spindle rather than a trim router
  • Ball screws and closed-loop NEMA 24 motors
  • 600 by 900mm rectangular bed suits long workpieces better than a square one
  • Runs plain GRBL, so existing CAM and senders work

Where it falls short

  • ATC is a bundle upgrade, not included in the base price
  • Round rod on the Y axis is the weak point
  • Smaller total area than the Forge despite the longer bed
  • Batch shipping with real lead times
  • Thinner support than the North American brands
