Quick verdict
This is VEVOR's take on the 3018 Pro Max layout: an aluminium frame with 12 mm and 10 mm round rails, lead screws, an aluminium T-slot bed and a 500W DC spindle at 12,000 RPM. Work area is 300 x 180 x 80 mm and the machine weighs 11.1 kg. The 500W spindle and tall Z make it far more capable than a 60W or 120W 3018, and it comes with six limit switches, an e-stop and a 1.8 in offline controller. The frame is still a 3018 on round rods though, so the spindle has more power than the structure can fully use. For small wood, acrylic and PCB work it is a solid budget pick.
Who this fits best
Small-parts hobbyists who want a 3018 footprint with a real spindle, limit switches and offline control
Buy this if
Small-parts hobbyists who want a 3018 footprint with a real spindle, limit switches and offline control. 500W spindle is a big step up from the usual 3018 775 motor.
Skip this if
Still a 300 x 180 mm work area, and round-rod guides and lead screws limit rigidity no matter how strong the spindle is.
What else you still need
A wider set of ER11 collets and carbide end mills, low-profile clamps for the T-slot bed, dust extraction, and the Y extension kit if 180 mm is too short.
Material reality check
Wood, MDF, acrylic, plastics, PCB blanks and soft brass or aluminium engraving with light passes. The round-rod frame, not the spindle, will limit how hard you can push in hardwood or aluminium.
Better alternative if...
you want a much bigger 400 x 400 mm bed for a little more money and can live with a 300W spindle. See Genmitsu 4040 Reno
Where it wins
- 500W spindle is a big step up from the usual 3018 775 motor
- 80 mm of Z travel, unusual for a 3018
- Limit switches on all axes, e-stop and offline controller included
- Aluminium T-slot bed instead of MDF
- Y axis can be extended to 400 mm with the optional kit
Where it falls short
- Still a 300 x 180 mm work area
- Round-rod guides and lead screws limit rigidity no matter how strong the spindle is
- VEVOR lists only 4,000 mm/min maximum X/Y speed
- Extension kit and laser are extra
- Thin documentation, as with other VEVOR routers
