Quick verdict
The AR4 Pro V6 is Axiom's current 24 x 24 inch Pro model, with a 610 x 610 x 150 mm working envelope on a welded steel base. It includes a 2.2 kW (3 HP) liquid-cooled spindle with an onboard cooling system, plus linear guides and 16 mm ball screws on all three axes, and Axiom lists positional accuracy of +/- 0.1 mm. Jobs run from a USB drive on the RichAuto B18 handheld controller, so no PC has to sit at the machine. Compared with the V5, Axiom lists 48 V stepper motors, an upgraded VFD and cooling system, a redesigned gantry and prewiring for its rotary kit and laser, while travel, spindle rating and published weight are unchanged. CAM software, the stand and the toolbox cost extra, and the machine needs a 220 V single-phase supply.

Buy this if
Hobbyists and small shops that want a compact 24 x 24 inch CNC with an included liquid-cooled spindle and standalone controller, and can provide 220 V power and a CAM license. 2.2 kW (3 HP) liquid-cooled spindle and onboard cooling system included.
Skip this if
24 x 24 inch work area is small for the money at full list price, and needs a 220 V single-phase, 10 A supply.
What else you still need
CAM software (Axiom offers VCarve Desktop, VCarve Pro or Aspire), a 220 V single-phase 10 A circuit, the optional stand or a bench that carries about 146 kg, router bits, a dust shoe and dust collector, and hold-down clamps.
Material reality check
Wood, plywood, MDF, plastics, foam, composites and phenolic, plus aluminum and brass with suitable bits and light passes.
Better alternative if...
If you have the floor space, the AR8 Pro V6 is the same machine with 1210 mm of Y travel, and it costs only modestly more from the same sellers. See Axiom Precision AR8 Pro V6
Where it wins
- 2.2 kW (3 HP) liquid-cooled spindle and onboard cooling system included
- Standalone B18 controller runs files from USB without a tethered PC
- Linear guides and 16 mm ball screws on all three axes
- 48 V stepper motors and prewiring for the optional rotary axis and laser
- 150 mm Z travel and 165 mm gantry clearance above the table
Where it falls short
- 24 x 24 inch work area is small for the money at full list price
- Needs a 220 V single-phase, 10 A supply
- No CAM software included; VCarve or Aspire is extra
- Stand and toolbox are sold separately, and the machine weighs about 146 kg
- One-year warranty
