Quick verdict
The PROVerXL 4x4 is the big brother of the PROVerXL 2x2: the same HG20 and HG15 rails, 20mm ball screws, closed-loop NEMA23 motors and 32-bit GRBL controller, stretched to 1300 x 1300 x 118mm of travel at 150kg net. That bed takes a full 4 x 4 ft panel, which is the main reason to buy it. The $3999 machine-only price does not include a spindle or router, so the real cost is higher before you cut anything. A 1300mm aluminium gantry also asks more of the frame than the 2x2 does, so expect to run lighter cuts on the long axis. It is a capable large-format GRBL machine, priced against established 4x4 machines with bigger communities behind them.

Buy this if
Sign makers and furniture builders who need a 4x4 bed with ball screws and want to choose their own spindle. 1300 x 1300mm bed takes a full 4 x 4 ft panel.
Skip this if
No spindle or router included at $3999, and 1300mm gantry on an aluminium extrusion X axis is long for a trim-router class machine.
What else you still need
A spindle is not included, so add the Genmitsu 710W router or a 1.5-2.2kW water-cooled spindle with VFD. You also need a level, rigid table around 1.9 x 1.85m that carries 150kg, a proper dust collector, end mills, and CAM software (VCarve Desktop bundle adds $300).
Material reality check
Plywood, MDF, hardwood panels, signboard and plastics in full 4 x 4 ft sizes are what this machine is for. Aluminium and brass are possible on the ball-screw drive, but with a 1300mm extrusion gantry and a trim router you should plan on light passes and keep heavy metal work near the gantry ends.
Better alternative if...
you want a 4x4 from a maker with a large North American user base and an established spindle upgrade path, compare the Sienci AltMill 4x4. See Sienci AltMill MK2 4x4
Where it wins
- 1300 x 1300mm bed takes a full 4 x 4 ft panel
- Ball screws and profile linear rails on every axis, closed-loop NEMA23 motors
- Optional second Z axis for running two routers or a router and a laser
- Hybrid spoilboard, Wi-Fi module, Z-probe, clamps and dust shoe included
- Uses the same well-documented GRBL software stack as smaller Genmitsu machines
Where it falls short
- No spindle or router included at $3999
- 1300mm gantry on an aluminium extrusion X axis is long for a trim-router class machine
- Max speed of 5000 mm/min makes full-sheet jobs slow
- Needs roughly 1.9 x 1.85m of floor or table space and a frame that can carry 150kg
- Second Z axis cuts usable X travel to 600mm
