Quick verdict
The 3030-PROVer Ultra is the current version of Genmitsu's 3030 desktop router and replaces the 300W MAX on the same Sainsmart listing. It keeps the 300 x 300 x 78 mm work area, all-aluminum frame, HG15 linear rails and 1204 ball screws on all axes. The main changes are a 710W compact router with a speed display in place of the 300W spindle, longer NEMA 17 stepper motors and a 93 mm pass-through height. It ships as two pre-assembled modules with an offline controller and runs GRBL 1.1h, so the usual GRBL senders work. The small bed and 2,000 mm/min top speed still limit it to small parts.
Who this fits best
Small, precise parts in wood, plastics and aluminum where a 300 x 300 mm bed is enough and quick setup matters
Buy this if
Small, precise parts in wood, plastics and aluminum where a 300 x 300 mm bed is enough and quick setup matters. HG15 linear rails and 1204 ball screws on every axis.
Skip this if
Work area is still 300 x 300 mm with 78 mm Z travel, unchanged from the MAX, and maximum speed of 2,000 mm/min is slow for larger wood jobs.
What else you still need
Flat and ball end mills for pocketing and profiling (the kit includes V-bits), a computer with CAM software, and a way to deal with chips and dust. Wi-Fi app control needs the separate wireless control kit.
Material reality check
Wood, MDF, plastics, acrylic and aluminum with small cutters and shallow passes. Steel and other hard metals are beyond it.
Better alternative if...
If your projects are mostly wood and outgrow a 300 x 300 mm bed, the LongMill MK3 30x30 gives a much larger cutting area. See LongMill MK3 30x30
Where it wins
- HG15 linear rails and 1204 ball screws on every axis
- Included 710W router has more than twice the power of the MAX's 300W spindle, with a speed readout
- Ships as two pre-assembled modules, so setup is quick
- 93 mm pass-through height for thicker stock
- Offline controller, Z-probe, clamps and a large side-mounted emergency stop included; 4th axis kit available separately
Where it falls short
- Work area is still 300 x 300 mm with 78 mm Z travel, unchanged from the MAX
- Maximum speed of 2,000 mm/min is slow for larger wood jobs
- Brushed router: carbon brushes need periodic checks and replacement
- Moving bed needs front and rear clearance and careful chip management
- App control needs a wireless kit that is sold separately
