If we are going to "invest" in machining equipment and tooling to make replace parts for cheap 'stuff', we may as well go ALL IN - buy a furnace and some green sand, make a mould from the broken part to cast a nice aluminum replacement, then machine the casting to final form...to maximize both the t

No, just no. You cannot just fix one side and leave it all lopsided. The other plastic piece needs replacing and while you are at it, replace the central part as well with a better clamp/folding mechanism. Come on ToT!!!
